This presentation will focus on ecological and cultural boundaries and ecotones and discuss how Indigenous peoples’ understanding of biodiversity and science is often based in relational worldviews that bring together biological and cultural diversity in innovative ways. Case studies including the restoration of the buffalo and the revitalization of Native American agriculture and foodways will illustrate the biocultural approach of Indigenous-led conversation.
