Residential Fellows
Each year up to twenty University of Minnesota faculty members are selected as Residential Fellows. Fellows are released from all teaching obligations during the tenure of their fellowships and are in residence in the Nolte Center, where they can benefit from the community of scholars and share their work across disciplines.
Each residential fellow is provided with an office with a computer in the Nolte Center. Fellows are expected to participate in the activities of the Institute, including attendance at events, weekly lunches and coffee hours, and so on. Housing stipends are provided for Fellows from University of Minnesota coordinate campuses to cover the cost of relocating to the Twin Cities for the period of fellowship.
In addition to faculty fellows, the IAS offers Quadrant and Hmong Studies residential fellowships. The IAS also is the home of three recipients of the Graduate School's Interdisciplinary Doctoral Fellowship. These graduate fellows are pursuing interdisciplinary projects and are in residence for the entire academic year.
