John Treat

John Treat is a professor of East Asian Languages and Literatures at Yale University, where he specializes in modern Japanese fiction. Among other works, he is the author of Great Mirrors Shattered: Homosexuality, Orientalism, and Japan (1999), Writing Ground Zero: Japanese Literature and the Atomic Bomb (1995), and Pools of Water, Pillars of Fire: The Literature of Ibuse Masuji (1988).
